End of Life

Courses

Editor: Federico Gustavo Pizzetti *

This section is dedicated to issues arising from the field of End-of-Life decision-making. It deals with the decisions of both competent patients and, in the case of non-competent patients, guardians.
In the past few decades, scientific discoveries and technological progress have prolonged life in biological terms whilst the doctor/patient relationship has become less paternalistic and more patient-choice oriented. This has led, on the one side, to the centrality of the patient and, on the other, to the need to ensure that his/her choices are legitimate within the national and international legal systems.

This section gathers together materials in the field of End-of-Life decision-making. It is not  to be a complete catalogue but rather to present elements of an "observatory".
Notification of news, cases, documents, studies and other such materials on the part of readers will be fundamental.

We invite you to take part in this initiative by sending your contributions to: federico.pizzetti@unimi.it
